Artist’s Statement
The world has aligned itself to the dictatorship of the image and the theatrical coup. Through my work, I seek a place of reconciliation with the transcendental nature of the spirit—a countercurrent journey exploring diverse forms of expression. Inspired by psychoanalysis, the initiatory voyage, and sublimation, I draw on theater and cinema, where the image becomes a language of symbols. I lament the superficiality of our neoliberal civilization, this “society of the spectacle” described by Guy Debord, and embark on an infinite quest toward profound being. My approach aims to escape Cartesian rationalism to liberate the unconscious and poetry. I invite the viewer to dive into the “deep sea of the inner voice,” following the trail of the “self-fish” evoked by Wajdi Mouawad—an call to infinite poetic reverie, the foundation of all creation. In this introspective and rebellious approach, I strive to transcend the visible to approach the invisible, making creation a space of freedom, rediscovered unity, and antidote to perpetual distraction.
